Hello I came to this forum hoping to find some advice because my 2001 Ford ranger 2.5 l is still giving me idling issues like stalling at red lights basically just it won't stay on unless I keep revving up the gas pedal so anyways I've tried a couple of things like taking out the idle air control valve and cleaning it according to a couple of YouTube videos I believe I did it properly but that didn't work so I also tried the mass air flow sensor cleaning trick with the approved cleaning spray mass air flow center cleaning spray and that did not work either so now I'm in the forum seeing what I should do thank you

It looks like you have several things going on. For the question asked, and since there is a code for it, I would look at the Idle Air Control valve. It could just be dirty, thus binding up, and needs cleaned or it could have failed and needs replaced.

It has been a number of years since I worked on a 2.5 but I believe it is mounted on the side of the throttle body. Try cleaning it up with some carburetor cleaner and see if that helps.

I tried cleaning it the other day. It didn't help but while it was out I used a flathead screwdriver and was able to push the valve up/down but I'm not sure if that means it doesn't need replaced. Thank you very much.
