Okay, bear with me. My son totaled his 2000 ranger. We bought a 2001 ranger with which to replace it. I am swapping axles, front and rear (from wheel to wheel), and, bc the brakes are toast on both rear options, I am looking to buy a conversion kit. SBCC is the option I am favoring right now. Can anybody shed light on the littleshopmfg kit?

Gee thanx, dvds! I am surprised you didn't tell me where the SEARCH button was located too. I have read the aforementioned articles; I wouldn't have asked if I hadn't. I am assuming you have no info on the littleshopmfg kit...

My Bronco II has a conversion... it uses Eldorado calipers.

I cant remember the manufacture... but there is some information in my build thread. Let me see if I can link it up. @bobbywalter posted a link to a kit he planned on using.

do uou have a link to the kit youre considering?

I'm on my phone and can't post a link... because I'm a boomer.

Bobby just mentioned the name of some upgraded Eldorado calipers.

Search Lugnut 4x4... you can see what they have.

I think those are the Eldorado calipers in that kit.

Be sure to look at lugnut 4x4... their calipers are upgraded... I just can't remember exactly what. I know I bookmarked them so if I ever needed replacements.

I'm sorry I can't give you any help with the kit you shared...

Other then... be sure you get it with park brakes.

I did the Mustang conversion as described in the Tech section on the 03 that I had and imho that is the best option for the 28 spline axles. I have the Ford Performance disc brake conversion for the 9" rear on my 09 since it has the Torsen rear axle with 31 splines, and that works well for that one (although I had to grind just a little clearance in the caliper because the axle overhang is about .12" different from perfect.) I think the Ford parts are preferable to any aftermarket options. Yes, the parking brakes work correctly with both of the options I suggest.
