I have a 2000 Ranger 4WD. 4.0 Engine. Auto. I am looking for the brake backing plate on the passenger side. Mine got all bent up. Any suggestions?

Just to clarify, are you looking for a "backing plate" or a dust shield.

I think the fronts are dust shields and can take a beating. Rears are backing plates . Backing plates are kinda hard to bend.

The experts will be along shortly to correct me :icon_confused:

Yes, I am looking for the backing plates. Somehow the front shoe on the passenger side rear brake came loose and trashed the backing plate and most of the brake components. The shoe is actually twisted!

YIkes I didn't think it would be that hard. Only thing I can find so far is is a string from 2020 that suggests leaving it attached to the axle and try to beat it back into a usable shape. Either that a pull a part. Sorry I can't help further.

$75 shipped anywhere in the lower 48

I'll pull the likely junk wheel cylinder to save weight and chances to leak

Hey PlumCrazy, I am definitely interested in the backing plate. Would you happen to have the parking brake bar for the 10" brakes? Thanks!

The spreader bar that goes between the shoes or the lever arm that the cable attaches to?

I'll double I should have one. If I have one Id throw it in for no extra cost.
