hey all, new to the site and looking for some advise.

i have a 2000 ranger 3.0 ffv auto. i am looking to get around 200 HP "safely" based on the Man. rated 150hp/200tq.

so far i have an intake and exhaust, which helped some i guess. atleast it sounds faster. lol. but any help would be appreciated

oh, and let me clarify something, i dont mean to sound as if turbos, blowers, or spray aint safe, i am just wanting to stay clear of the such.

i want to sqeeze a lil bit out of her with out a full fledge sprial into a engine tear down/rebuild. oh, and how well do these engine hold up to mods?

No bolt on will give you that kind of improvement. You're either going to need to spin it faster (cam and headers, etc) or push more air in per cycle (forced air).

not even a cam will do that.

If he REALLY wants 200hp from a vulcan engine I see one way: Nitrous.

a 50hp shot and he's got his 200hp....

Atleast until the bottle is empty.

I want to run a 50 shot on a stock 4.0......... I can't find any good tech articles on the topic.

The cheapest and easiest way to get that HP out of your 3.slow ranger is to sell it and buy one with a 4.0 SOHC (2001 and up). 207 HP out of the box before mods.

Even a programmer will only give a single-digit gain percentage-wise. You might pick up 10 or 15 horse... maybe.

Performance stickers may do the trick tho, I hear they get 5 HP apeice...:yahoo:
