2 low?

Yeh as soon as i got my manuel hubs I started using my low ranger for trailers. It helps because a lot of the ramps are either really steep or so shallow my truck has to go almost to the door in the water. Low range just makes it cruise right up the ramp like nothing is back there.

Along with the strength and reliably increase, 2LO is one of the great advantages of having manual locking hubs.

Absolutely. And it's why I put manual hubs on my Exploder even when the auto hubs were working just fine.

I like it for very twisty paved mountain roads.

As for "shock loading" the rear, sure that's possible. It's even possible in 2HI. But if you're driving like that, I'd be a BIT more concerned about digging your front teeth out of the steering wheel.
