Hello, i have been looking around at 2 inch lifts for my '96 B4000 cab plus and have found that the kits consisting of leaf blocks and coil spacers are said to NOT work with the extended cab, why is this? i am wanting to do a 2 inch lift because i want to put on 33's.

It will work, but it might no give you the full 2" as the truck is heavier than a regular cab.

Ok, that makes sense. Cause i didnt think that the reg cab and ext. had any major suspension differences. Do you think i could still run 33's if i didnt get a full 2"?

If you did fit 33's on there you will be rubbing a lot on bumps and dips. Go find another setup. Look at Ebay for lift kits that work for your truck or get a 3 inch body lift.

Ok, well how well would 32's fit with with < 2" lift? I would think that they'd work since you can get a 31 with no lift.

A lot depends on how good the suspension is on there right now. Springs get weak and compress more as they age or collapse. You need to factor that in as well. My 99 Ranger sat higher than stock when I first bought it new in '99. I fit 31's on it then. No problem at all

2 years later I lifted it 5 inches (Fabtech 3 inch spindle lift and 2 inch taller coil spring) and 33's fit perfect with no rubbing.

Then I added a body lift the next year. I just wanted it to sit a bit higher

You might be able to swing 32s depending on your suspension. My 31s rub at full lock with a 2" lift so i dont know if i could get away with 32s

So with a 3" body lift i could run 33's, but otherwise i should only run 31's, right?

33s would probably rub on your sway bar without a 4" suspension lift. 2" lifts usually only mean bigger coils or coil spacers up front, to fit the 33s you would probably want something with drop brackets with bigger coils.
Cheap 4" kits are as cheap as about $500... $700-800 for a quality one, $1200 for one with extended radius arms.

If you are set on the 2" lift, you can level out the front end with some big washers under the coil.

Ok, even if they are 10.5" wide? cause im really not looking to spend much on this truck. I will probably do the 3" body lift and just fit the biggest tire i can in there.

i have a 2 inch lift on my 98 extended cab but already with a 3 inch lift..... i just put in some lift blocks and it worked fine..... i have 31's or 32's on rite now...but i dont see why you cant put some regular lift blocks in there
