2.9l vs 2.9l cosworth 24v engine swap

ref cosworth conversion

im putting one in my 88 supercab at the moment, engine mounts the same box the same, bit tight around bulk head left hand side,l/h side exhaust mamifold bit close to steering but real easy swap,a lot of engine parts same as 12v got no problems over here in getting parts but u may have to get stuff shipped to you if u need it,plenty around over here and most peaple will ship to states
good luck steve

I love just about anything Cosworth has ever done with Ford. Seeing as the regular 2.9 shares alot of similarity to the Cosworth 2.9, I don;t see many problems in the actual swapping of the engine.

You'd be doing an injustice by NOT swappin in the Cossie.

Keep us updated on your swap, I am planning on doing this aswell, as a complete car goes for around 1500$ in Norway (they all have broken A4LD's, and who wants that tranny anyway`???

if it's a cosworth, its not a north american spec car. from what i hear the cosworth 2.9 is a dohc that makes somewhere in the 190hp range. definitely worth the time if not for the 'cool factor' alone. i cannot say how easy/difficulty the swap would be though. if it will accept stock motor mounts and a stock clutch and trans (or 4.0 trans) i say go for it!
hi
yes the cosworth its the same block with the 24 valve on it my question is could i use a 2.9 ecu with that cosworth engine i dont have a ecu thank
