2.9L... looking to increase performance and aggressive sound

We put my entire exhaust in with my truck sitting in the driveway, If you have to access to a welder you will be fine. Granted my dad knows how to weld a little so if your friend can help you out when it comes, Congrats on the new exhaust!

Spark plugs and wires aren't difficult...if I can do it anybody can! :icon_rofl:

it says bolt on... do i have to weld?

also, how difficult is it to swap out my exhaust manifold? worth it? i get oil leaks all over it, causing it to smoke up whenever i drive it, not a TON of smoke... but visible coming out of the sides of the wheel wells

nevermind.

but yes, ordering the muffler and tailpipe at jegs... 99.99 but witha 75 rebate through dynomax... awesome deal.

we'll see how it sounds, might be a bit before i update you guys, but i will update.

When doing plugs and wires, some people have the tendency to remove all of the plug wires at once and loose the firing order. Be sure to do one at a time and you will be good. :icon_thumby: From what I remember, only #1 and #4 were kind of problematic because some of the engine accessories/brackets were in the way.

You don't have to weld the exhaust, they give you all of the clamps and what not to clamp it all together.

If the exhaust manifold isn't cracked, leave it alone. You'll open a huge can of worms trying to get those exhaust bolts out. Sound like you just need to change your valve cover gaskets.

okay i'll keep that on the list, do one wire at a time... it'll be worth it to get all new spark plugs and wires

and the wires are sized so that they only fit one of them correct? like i can take off the old one, and compare it to the new set to see which one it is the same as right?

i'll have the family friend see if it's cracked... any symptoms i would notice if it was cracked? i don't smell exhaust in the cab or anything.

yeah, somebody tightened the valve gaskets WAY too tight, so then it bubbled, and it leaks because they are too tight.

replacing them with rubber ones should be good....

got my exhaust in the mail (mom wasn't too pleased when i came back from camping and there was a ~7 foot box in the living room lol..)

will let you know when i get it installed... too busy as of now.

crawled under the truck the other day and realized i have 2 cats... normal?
what does this change? just lower the smog? what about changes in performance and/or noise?
