Fuel Line Swap
My Doner 92 Explorer 4 door 4.0. I swaped the complete fuel system. First I removed the bed
I removed the fuel filter and installed the fuel line section from the ex.and swaped it. this bolted in the existing holes on the frame
I took out the old fuel pump and put a couple slots in the bkt. to hold fuel filter. I think I could have used the ex filter bkt. but I lost it and found it after the mod.
I removed the fuel lines from the ex and the fuel pump and fuel level assy. I installed the assy into the tank. I had to bend over one of the orientation tangs.
I started to lay ouy the fuel lines. You can see the direction I chose. My idea was to rout the lines back thru the frame for protection.
Once the lines were bent I tucked them in and lightly tweaked the lines to fit nice. I used the tubing brackets to help and as rub protection
Once I got that done I crawled under the truck to do a check fit. The solid fuel lines magicaly fit into the old brackets and the fuel lines ended exactly where they needed to be.
Here are more pics. I had no real idea this would work out but I had nothing to loose by trying it and it came out nice. I feel comfortable with the setup and I am sure I aint going to have to spend any time fooling around worrying about leaks. I spliced nothing.
