2.9 no start

I have a 90 b2 has 2.9l manual will not start have not went out to mess with today. It has check engine light in but when it goes out it fires right up. So tempting to rip it out and do either 4.0 swap or 351swap . I have the parts for both. C4 combo .

Check for spark. Probably a TFI module gone bad.

Went out today it cranked over a few times then light went out. Started right after light went out. Im thinking it a moisture problem. We have damp rainy snowy days.

Changed that yesterday. Im thinking its the pcm.
