2.9 heads on a 2.8?

i wonder what would happen if i put the heads off of a 2.9 and put them on my 2.8. power upgrade maybe?

about 50 a head give or take... i have the 2.8 and im having head gasket problems... does it matter if some of the ports are covered up with the new gaskets that i bought? also why is it that my title says 82 but i can only find 83 ford ranger parts...

IIRC it is because the lower intake will not match up correctly. Neither the 2.8 or 2.9 intake will match up.
