2.9 5 spd tranny problems

i have a 2.9l 89 ranger, looking for a 5 spd all i can find are 4cyl trannys so my question is will a m5od-r1 tranny from a 2.3l mount up to a 2.9l the bell- housing looks the same but will the splines mate up idk any help is appreciated
BTW its a 2wd truck

If the bellhousing looks the same, it's not a 4banger transmission.

They AREN'T the same.
