2.3L to 2.8L stroker kit


I do not think using an older camshaft will help. Both cams use roller cam followers, the newer followers have more narrow tips to handle the smaller diameter valve stems. The later 2.5 cams may have more lift. Check the specification post for details, or search the web. I don't think you'll gain anything using the older cam. Grooved bearings reduce the surface area by the amount of the groove. Does that help? Maybe, but not much. Grooves help more in instances where the feed is rotating, such as rod journals. You will get flow all the way around, but I do not know if the difference is significant on cam journals.
