2.3L interchange with 2.9???

hello im wondering if the trans out of a 90 ranger 2.9L 2wd 5 speed will fit my 92 2.3L 2wd 5 speed im thinking the one in the 92 is the Mazda M50D-R1 but i havent seen the one in the 90 model yet ne ideas????

Negative, the bolt pattern is completly different.

I did hear that the guts inside are interchangeable if they are both M50D-R1 transmissions. If I remember correctly, you must swap out everything as a set and not just select pieces.
