DECIDE on a motor and transmission and set a BUDGET.
Ask yourself how much time and money you have to spend.....then double it!

Just like Tominator said, but I want to add something to that.
Plan on tripling your time, because you'll almost inevitably spend hours upon hours going over and back over the stuff that you find on here.
Of course, there will always be hiccups when actually starting the swap, and for each one, you'll be referring to this site to help you even more.
