I'm trying to troubleshoot my temperature guage.I have searched on the web,and from what I'm gathering, the temp.and oil senders are together/one being on top of the other,at the rear of engine. Now from what I gather, the one in the head is oil,and one in block is water, which I would think is the otherway around.I have managed (in my "digging") to come across one sender in this vicinity, that is just behind the rear injector. It has an orange (could be red)/black wire going toit.I jumped it to ground, but no water temp.guage..........Is this the water temp. or oil..
Oil pressure and volt guage work............only fuel and water don't,and I'm dropping the tank to check fuel sender. But this water temp................!!

The oil sender is in the cylinder head to the rear of the intake manifold.
The water temperature sender is in the block just below the cylinder head to the rear of the block, drivers side. You can usually get access better from the bottom.:)shady

Just wondering if you got any traction with this problem. I've got a 1990 with no working water temp or fuel gauge.

Thanks for sharing your findings,
Todd

same deal with me, my '89 doesn't have a working fuel gauge, or temp. Im looking around for the easiest way to get to the temp sender. any ideas?
