2.3 4x4

What tranny did the 4 banger 4x4 rangers use? Im looking into SASing my 94 2wd. Im not sure what tranny and transfercase to use. Will a 4.0 or 3.0 4x4 tranny bolt up to a 2.3? I want a manual tranny as well.(I would prefer a manual t case as well)

dont know about a 4.0 but a 3.0 can only bolt up to a 3.0, its one of a kind and the bellhousing isnt removable and no adapters.

Thats what I figured. Is the t case the same as anything else?
