1st generation Rangers considered classic/vintage?

I've been taking mine to classic car shows for over 10 years...

1st generation Rangers considered classic/vintage?

It is a year younger than me, I was Gen X as a kid but somehow got shifted into a millennial at some point later on, I guess Xennial is the correct term now.
Wondering what the consensus is on the 1st gen Rangers, Bronco II and Explorers being vintage or classic vehicles.
As an OFG (Boomer), my idea of vintage/classic has been pre mid 70’s. But time marches on!
What’s your vote and the generation you identify with? (Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, etc)
Just curious!
I’m new here but I was born in 79 so I’m a gen x. I think they are sought after these days. The eighties vehicles are to the newer generations what the 60s and 70s vehicles were to us. Love it💯♥️

So, by that logic I’m supposed to be loving one of these?

Not much older than a 1st gen...
I went into a parts place to get a carb kit for my 77 Pinto. The young guy behind the counter asked if it was Chev, Dodge, or Ford...

But did he make any catching on fire jokes?

Gotta look for the silver lining... :icon_thumby:

Too ethereal, they think a pinto is a full size….

They're probably thinking "Who would name a car after a bean?"

Could it lead to a "Sas-squash package"?

Or even a Toramato?

For what its worth I have Historical Vehicle tags on my 1992 and 1998 lol.

All my stuff also has a historical driver…

Well the State of Indiana allows for historic plates for 25 and older vehicles, and classic plates for same if driven only x amount of miles and garage kept vehicles. So technically my 97 Ranger is eligible for Historical vehicle plates, and as soon as i get a new house with a garage maybe even classical plates :)

Guess it really depends on a variety of things. I originally fell in the Gen X category until they moved the line. I still identify as Gen X. Have a hard time accepting that the vehicles of my childhood are now “Classic” and “Antique” because they don’t seem that old to me. My real irritation anymore is that PA took away the reasons to get “Classic” or “Antique” plates for your vehicles. Classics now have to meet all of the “safety” stuff that regular plates have to (inspections and stuff), and you are limited to like 3k miles a year. Antiques now are daylight only and limited miles.

Michigan is similar. They dont have a mileage limit but you can only drive to and from shows/cruise ins, and not in incliment weather.

How hard its enforced i have no idea.
