The aft most exhaust hanger on my 99 Ranger recently broke, I even started a thread thinking about replacing the whole system because of it. I haven't ditched that idea yet, but can't decide on one and need to get this hanger replaced.

Can't seem to find a replacement hangar locally. I'm good with just replacing the rubber insulator since that's all that's broken, but I can't seem to find one of those that fits the application. None of the parts house insulators list the Ranger as an application. I can't even find one online, the only thing I've found is the complete assembly for later models and I'm not even seeing those at the moment.

Any suggestions as to where to find a new replacement? I'll go to a dealer if I have to, but prefer it as a last resort.

Is it the same style as the one in this diagram?

If it is, you can fix it yourself. You'll notice it has a pin in it- has a wide flat head on one side, and sort of a rounded part on the other side. The rounded part is where it was welded on. Grind that down, you can pop the pin out with a hammer and punch, then drill the holes out a little bigger for a bolt and you can use any standard rubber hanger (the oval shaped ones with a hole on each end). I just had to do this on mine, the metal reinforcement in the original hanger was completely rusted out and the rubber tore when I tried to take the tailpipe off.

I'm not sure when/if the hanger style changed though. Might just have to cobble something together if yours isn't like that.

A local shop only charged me $20 to install a universal aftermarket hanger on mine. Including cutting the old hangar off and welding the new one on.
