1999 ranger problem

hi i just recently got this truck its a 4x4 xlt and my auto hubs where bad of course so i did the manual conv and when i switch to 4 hi or low it seems like my transfer binds up and completly stops my truck if i give it gas my fronts roll just fine but my rear tires seem to want to spin faster and starts to chirp im no expert but could my front lock into 4 low and my rear into 4 hi? plz help!

It sounds to me like you have different gear ratios in the front and rear differential. Just exactly how did you convert over to the manual hubs? Or did the previous owner change out the rearend? Look at the diffs and look for a tag attached to the housing and see if you have the same gearing. Its not possible to put the front in high and the rear in low. I think there was nothing wrong with your automatic hubs, You got the wrong gears front and or rear! They both have to be the same ratio
