Hello all, working through a T-Case issue of it not shifting. To start with, the 4 Low light was blinking on the dash, it was not in 4-Low. I pulled the shift motor and tested it. I could not get it to move by applying 12 volts.

I checked my spare motor and it moved just fine with 12 volts. I installed this motor assembly, but it still won’t shift. There is no T-Case lights illuminated on the dash, but there is a clicking noise coming from behind the radio area.

Any thoughts on what I should check next?

I went manual shift ASAP, but it kinda sounds like the stop in the replacement motor are bad. Can you tell if it's moving (hunting) when you push the button?

If that's the case, you might be able to build a good motor from the 2.

I definitely want to go manual shift t-case.

I’ll pull the shift motor today and see if it moves when the switch is turned.

I pulled the shift motor and it did not move at all when the switch was moved.

I pulled the connector and hooked leads to the two pins that go to the motor and no 12v signal is going to the connector.

the clicking I heard in the dash as not anything to do with the 4x4 system, that I know of…
I believe the control module is just to the left of the center vent duct and I hear nothing coming from there either.

Today, I disconnected the 4x4 Shift Module (BCM). There is a ton more things attached to that module, than just the 4x4 stuff.

Anyhow, once I reconnected it, the transfer case motor made some noise. I jacked the truck and placed it on jack stands, put her in drive and turned the switch, all four tires turned.
At least it is working, but the indicator lights on the dash do not work.

4 High, 4 Low and the O/D Off lights do not illuminate. I checked the bulbs and all looked good. I swapped the bulbs with locations that did illuminate and with know good bulbs, they still did not illuminate.

Locally, I cannot get a used module, I’d have to order it from out of state.

Does the BCM control the dash light too?
Is there a way to test the BCM?
Could the shift motor cause the 4x4 lights and the O/D Off lights to not illuminate?

Getting closer, day by day…. lol

The original T-case motor was locked up for sure and that might have been what started this little battle. It was started by the previous owner and I inherited it… lol

Thought I was in the clear when it shifted while on jack stands.

While driving it around the neighborhood tonight both high and low 4wd lights started blinking and it wouldn’t actually go into 4wd.

I hate throwing money at things, but it seems this issue might, or might not require both parts.

I decided to replace the shift motor today and fixed a few hacked wire repairs. Two or three splices in certain wires. I cut that out and made cleaner repairs.

Once it all went back together, everything worked as it should.

Thank you all for the help along this journey!
