1999 Ford Ranger Hood

Good morning. Will a hood from a 2001 Ford Ranger fit on a 1999?

There's fit and there's installs and works.

The '01 hood will bolt on and can be made close.

But as the turn/head light combo/grill changed from '98-00 to '01-04 there is subtle difference in the hood. <grill is trace above the top of headlight line on '98-00, grill is straight across on the '01-04.

Is it enough that anyone outside of this forum would recognize it, maybe not.

To clarify, there are 2 hoods for 2001 Rangers.
- There's a "Flat" hood made of aluminum. It came on XL and XLT trucks. It's identical to the 98-00 hoods.
- There's a composite "Power dome/Edge" hood. It has the center raised section from front to rear and a spear shaped divot in the middle. It will work on 98-00 trucks just fine, but they used slightly different grille shells and header panels, so the corners of the front grill don't line up perfectly with the hood unless you also get the 01-03 Edge grille and header panel. Not my truck, but these pics give an idea:

I used an Edge hood for the base of my custom hood on my 2000. The slight overhang kind of bugs me, but it's not enough of a difference that anybody has ever commented about it.
