1998 ranger gem

Bob describes the same location as that 2000 diagram shows.

I stand corrected that the GEM CAN be the problem.
Shift Module is much more likely than a GEM problem.

Bob also says that the likely problem is the shift motor itself or the transfer case.
You can remove the shift motor and shift it manually to rule out the txfr case.

Might look behind the passenger side kick panel and driver side jump seat.

Took pass. Side kick panel off . Crash box there an fuel reset only...look at jump seats no luck there...real head scratcher trying to find shift control module..
