Hey guys, I've spent hours researching, I'm not quick to post, but I'm still a little unclear. I have a 98 Ranger 2.5, 5 speed, 2wd, and I have the drivetrain from my wrecked 88 5.0 GT. I have the engine, engine harness, computer, but no main harness. I also have vert motor mounts and the T-5. I'm aware that the 96-97 V8 Explorer is a ideal swap when using everything but I'm hoping all I really need is a harness. See I'm doing this properly but on a supertight budget, it's going to be tough, but I have time and parts on my side(I work at a metal recycling yard) and I can't decommision the ranger till winter is over. So I guess what I asking is can I easily splice in a Crown vic,or mustang harness(their more easily available) I also know I need both wiring diagrams for both vehicals. Thanks Skip:icon_cheers:

Depending on where you live, the Mustang's EEC-IV setup may not be legal in your EEC-V Ranger. Do you have the Mustang's computer harness? The swap can be done, but you'll have to change the fuel system , guages, and a few other things.

Yes. I made my own harness by splicing a CV harness to fit my application. Solder and heat-shrink. Save the color-coded wire from the 4 cyl. harness, it comes in real handy.
