My Ranger scaled at 5200 last week.

And I tow with it.

You could tow with the F150 with the right gears and the manual tranny. The manual tranny is key since you dont need to worry about blowing up an auto tranny.

Also, trailer brakes are an absolute must.

+1 to Metalmacguyver. A truck's tow ratings are reccomended. Not the true Max, and I'm not saying that Ford is wrong by any means. It's just that Im pretty sure they dont completely toast a brand new truck just to know the true rating. Plus, the true max will vary between every vehicle that rolls off the line. and after 10 years, pay attention to WHO the previous owner is.
