true.... my bro recently trade a mirage for his current ranger, mitsus with 100k mi or more start burning oil, and smoking in the exhaust, thats why he traded his, also the interior looks like crap compared to the ranger, they were the same year, 2000 and the ranger looks 10x better

no but i scared the piss (literally) out of the salesman when I test drove that 93 stealth and pulled 80 in second gear in traffic...

Well that car didn't work out, guy never responded to the emails I sent or the message I left on his phone.

What do you think about Pontiac Sunfires? Never really heard much good about them, but never heard anything specific bad about them. Not too good of gas mileage but it's better than I'm getting.

This has always been a good reliable car for me. The only reason I am even selling it is because I need a truck for work. I just put new tires on last year (tread is still really good), alignment, new fuel pump, new timing belt and new break lines. I have always taken good care of my vehicles and dont abuse them. The car is in good shape and runs great. I have all the maintenance records for the time I have owned the vehicle which is about 2 years. I need to get rid of this pretty fast.

I like the color.. that's about it. I think they're ugly cars. But I can't be picky.

Ok, nothing specific. Factory alarm systems go funky, quad 4 (nothing else needs to be said i hope), interioirs go to hell quick in the sun....

well, in my opinion if the thing is sooo damn good...why all that replacements??
all people say the same...oo i need this... , thats why im selling it, even me!!! i blowed the tercel engine for the 4th time!! in 3 years, i repaired it and traded it for the ranger, cuz i needed a work truck lol!! (well i do use it for work) and of course... i dont abuse my cars.... even my grandma speeds
its up to u....but, why not another ranger??

I'm going to be driving 60+ miles a day starting in August. So I would like to have something that gets better gas mileage than 18mpg.

Since he is in NY I understand the brake lines.

We all know timing belts need to be changed, that is a big ticket item on that engine, he was pointing out it has already been done.

Tires are a consumable and periodically need to be replaced

Fuel pump is an electrical part, those fail, could last 5 min, could last 50 years. You can't say I like my ford because their fuel pumps never fail just because your has never failed. I can think of a thousand reasons not to buy an Explorer, Blazer, 4 Runner, Land Cruiser, Saturn, Suburban, F-150.......... there will always be somebody to say something negative about any car.

I don't see anything that would not be a normal wear items for any rust belt state.

there is a difference between speeding and abusing, I doubt your grandma abuses her car. I don't abuse machinery either, but I expect it to do the job I bought it for.

I had an 89 Pontiac Grand Am, good car. Had the quad 4, good engine. Made plenty of power and as with anything else maintain it and don't beat on it and it will last a while. replace the spark plug boots, they go bad, used to cost $26 at autozone. for piece of mind, do a compression check, they are known to pop head gaskets.

I am sure that will get some flaming but then again ..... I have a 6.5L turbo diesel and there are 6.5L haters out there ....... but I have seen just as many powerstroke and cummins failures

He said he will think about it, but shes a chevy fan so no promises. I guess he's had his eye on a fullsize chevy that one of his friends said they might sell to him. The car turned out to be an auto with the 2.2, so I'm not all that interested anymore anyway. I'd need a 5 speed to get good gas mileage in a sunfire.

A 2.3 tops out at 26 according to fueleconomy.gov . And it's still rear wheel drive, not good for those Northern Winters.
