Will my 33'' BFG Mud terrain km2 will fit my 1997 ranger with my 15x10 mikey thompson classic 2. I have a 3 inch body lift with a 2 '' suspension lift ???

Thanks

that is some wide wheels for only a 2" suspension lift..... They will fit, but they will rub

how wide are they on the hight you should be good

yeah but 3 inch body + 2 inch suspension = 5 inch over stuck...you really think they will rub?

no, not a chance that they will rub, consider, rangers that year came stock alot of times with 31" tires(if its 4x4 anyways). when u add 5" of clearance and only 1 more inch of tire all the way around then just do the math.....

it will sit nice and be able to flex relativly well. the only place u may rum is on the inner fender well on the backside, but i doubt that

how do you get 1" more of tire going from a 31" tire to a 33" tire? Your math is off bud..

trust me, they WILL rub... The 33's I had on my old '97 rubbed and the truck had 6" of lift and was running 15x8 wheels..... go figure...

mjones, what was you backspacing? Backspacing can make a tire rub, or make a tire that does rub, not rub if you change it.

He didn't say one inch bigger overall. He said 1 inch bigger all the way around. 1" on top, 1" on bottom, and 1" on either side. a 33 is not 2" bigger in every direction.

I don't know how much a difference there is between the IFS and TTB suspension as to where the tires rub, and how much clearance there is, but I know there are a couple of people that run 33"s on just a torsion bar crank on those trucks.

I plan on running this same setup. I have roughly a 2" suspension lift, will have a 3" body lift soon, and am going to run 33x12.5x15 Pro Comps, on probably 15x8 wheels with 3.75 backspacing.

EDIT: Yes, you could probably trim the fenders alittle if it rubs, but I doubt it will rub very much at all. And if it does it won't take very much trimming.

Honestly, I think a 10" wide wheel is a bit much for a 12.5 tire. I would say on a 12.5, you would be best running 8" wheel, but could use anything between a 15x7 and a 15x9. I wouldn't go over or below that because the center of the tire will start ro bug out and make the tire wear in the center faster. Too wide of a rim, you can start running the risk of blowing the tire off of the bead. And, too wide of a rim can make the tire look like a balloon too.

Thanks man! Very useful informations...You're right, with 1 '' bigger (all the way around) than the 31'', i'm pretty sure now that they will fit. I've putted some 31 '' BFG all terrain on it when he was stock, with 5'' lifted over stock now, I THINK that they should fit....or i will trim a little bit my fender

Thanks again,

For the rim wide, BFG recommend rim between 9-11'' for a 12.50 tire...I think that will be ok??

I don't think you'll have any problems. I've got a 1997 also with a 4" suspension lift and 33x12.50x15 Mud Terrains and no fender rubbing problems at all. Just a little rub on the sway bar when the tires are turned all the way right or left.

they prboably wont rub, if i can run 32"s on a 1st gen ranger with just a 3" body lift, then i dont think you will have ANY issues running 33's on a third gen because

1- the wheel openings are CONSIDERABLY bigger then that of a 1st gen
2- 31's do not rub on factory trucks for that year
3- 5" of lift, for every 1" of lif u add you can "in theory" run 2" bigger tire as long as width stays relativly the same.
4- its done all the time and been proven that they usually dont rub

but also i would just run these tires on your stock rims, ur rims usually want to be about 4" narrower the then marked width of your tires for proper wear and for warranty purposes

Thanks Everyone for ur help, that's cool to see that they will probably fit. I've ordered those tire yesterday (because Mud-terrain 2 is not avalaible until April 30 where I live) So that will not be funny if those would'nt fit! So thanks again for your help guys!
