1996 ranger

x2!!!!

And if you do any suspension lifting more than 1 or 2 inches it would probably be a good idea to use bigger shocks.

And by the way I just replaced all my old rubber bushings with polyurethane ones and holy sweet baby jesus..the ride is so much more smoother, quieter, responsive, got rid of that clunk sound over every bump and it gave me an awesome project to get my girl freind into which she is starting to enjoy working on vehicles and possibaly being bit by the ranger bug, haha!!! And another thing is, you definately wanna replace all of the bolts, nuts, and hardware that deal with the bushings...unless you could reuse it, which in my case was one of the axle pivot bolts...the rest had to be cut out.

Sorry for the story but I hope you found this motivating or at least interesting, possibaly usefull!?!

im just going to level it out in the front. probally go buy some 2'' coil spacers to make it look better. any ideas on a way to give my ranger a little more power. im thinking a cold air intake. what else you think i should do. im on a limited budget but would like to give er a little more pwer.

Definately the zip tie to gas pedal trick found I think in the tech library and of coarse exhaust. I have read that the stock intake is as good as it gets that's why you can't find any after market for them...so don't waste your money on that. And I think there is a chip available for the 4.0L...correct me if I'm wrong. And one more thing is...save your self money and buy washers to level out the front or buy leveling coils and add a couple washers...its wat I did.

if you wanna run big tires, such as 33s i'd say regear to 4.56, it will be close to the same as stock with a little more bottom end..i never had a problem with mine being underpowered.

eh figerd out im getting some 31'' bfg all terrains for free so im just gonna run them for the summer. as for the exaust im going to run a single flowmaster 40 with 2 exits and run duals thataway. i looked for chips on ebay but just found the cheapies. what size of warshers wouldi need to level that front end out?

if you're gonna run 33's you're going to want more than 2" of lift. I have 33's and they rub on tight corners with 4.5" lift. for 31's you should be fine though

haha just said i was gonna run 31''s on it.it had 31''s on it when we bought it.

what size of warshers do i need for the front end level?

I think there is a section on it in the tech library. Your best bet would be to check there for your washer size.

if i put 4'' lift springs on the front i would need longer shocks though wouldent i? what else would i have to do with 4'' springs and say 3-4'' blocks.
