1995 Ranger V6 sparkplugs

What is the easiest way to reach the spark plugs on the passengers side, so that I can change them?

if its a 4.0L just get your hands in there and do it......... I didn't remove anything from my explorer to change the plugs......... it is a tight fit and you will learn your hands do fit in places you didn't think they would

There really isn't enough room to move a ratchet around, but you can get one in there to break them loose, then just use a short extension with a socket on the end and spin the end of the extension with your fingers. Do the same when you install the new ones and snug them up with a ratchet.

You will have to move a few things out of the way before you start.

if your really having trouble reaching them, you can pull the inner fender off and go through that way. ive never had a problem reaching them just going in from the top though...

I never had to remove anything either, just had to get my hands in there and do it. I picked up a finger ratchet at autozone, works just fine on tight spots

The plugs in V6 Rangers are the pits. Utterly inaccesable, mostly blind guessing as to what you're up to. It took me all day to do my 2000 3.0, cursing the engineers at Ford the whole time. My left hand is still scarred!

Just because you can get 50K+ from a set of plugs is no excuse to have to kill
yourself to do a simple maintainece job!

My 2003 4.0L was a pain, but I didn't have to disassemble anything to get at them. It's just tight and a little frustrating.

never had a problem with the plugs on my 99 3.0.....

use the proper tools and its easy

Yep, right side plugs, 4.0 V6, PITA.
My '96 Ranger is the same. Takes time, tools,
and numerous cuts 'n scratches.

An old wrenchin' buddy of mine used to say,

The first time I did them, it was a bitch and one of my stock spark plug wires was melted on. It's hard the first time to break em free, but after that it should be cake (to regap the plugs).

It you have a swivel socket or a socket wrench that has an adjustable/turnable head ($10), that would be easier, too. Go in through the top, be patient, and use some finesse.
