1994 Ranger Stepside

wait, you can find one cheaper, probably on here! i would wait for one with a slider, i want to get one in my truck, i hate not being able to open it.

im sure a moderator can move this thread......

well it seems this thread is turning into my own question and answer session and probably belongs in the build section....:clapping:

so as i think i have stated somewhere that i need to replace the fuel fill hose........i got around to calling a few places today........nobody had it and the junk yard wanted 105 to get one in 4 days....why is it so hard to get this ??

the other issue i am having is this........when looking at these on the net i have seen some that say "NOT FOR STEPSIDE" ........... is there really a difference? or does anyone have a clue???

so my truck now sits bedless until i figure out how or where to get this damn hose.....:bsflag:

yeah, id bet the fill hose for a step side would be different. guys around here found some hose at napa they use or something like that. look around there should be info somewhere.

the filler hose for a stepside is shorter than that for a fleetside pickup.

id price out a new one at the dealer for shits and giggles....might not be as bad as you think.

and a close up........

So now is the point where i am a little stuck......on the tech page in the pics

http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/Dec%2005/tech.htm

im not sure that i am seeing this correct but my hanger bracket is upside down to what is pictured.......am i right or illiterate????:icon_twisted:

your hanger is stock. the hanger in the tech library is flipped......thats what a hanger flip is....but be warned, if you flip it the front will be higher than the back.

understand......

i understand the flipping.....but the before and after pics in the tech library are the same.....or am i too high???:icon_twisted:

pics in the tech library are wrong...they are both post-flip. yours is what it looks like stock.

So its not the herb playing with my head.....and i am calling myself warned......how much is it going to lower the back........2 inches or so....or will it be more like 4?

i may cut 1/2 coil out of front end to make it closer to level if that is what it is going to take.....

well, the herb may very well be playing with your head....but the pics are still wrong ;missingteeth;

a shackle flip is close to 4" drop for the back. avoid cutting coils....its the "redneck" way of lowering the front and it doesnt do good things for ride quality. i'd look around for 2" lowering springs or something (should be alignable without new beams).

yea, id go buy a kit if i were you... but not my truck :icon_thunby:

Wow....

6 bux????
:nopityA:
is that all my baby is worth???

I put the bed back on after finding out that a filler neck from Ford was $272.00 That puts stuff on pause for a minute while I find one locally.....

PS...i washed her today on my lunch :icon_hornsup:

The offer has to at least double for that.....
