1994 outer tie rod ends wrong thread direction?

I recently replaced the upper and lower ball joints and outer tie rod ends on my '94 b2300. Afterward, I took it to a local shop for an alignment. They told me that they couldn't align it because the tie rod ends are wrong and the thread causes the alignment collars to just spin on the ends and not adjust. The driver's side and passenger side tie rod ends are different diameters so I know I didn't put them on the wrong side. The threads are reversed on both sides. Did the store give me the wrong parts? Are there aftermarket alignment collars that flipped the thread?
Anyway, I have been struggling to get the toe set as best I can by dropping the tie rod ends from the spindle and then manually backing the tie rod ends in and out to do very course adjustments, but I don't want the TTB front end of my truck to chew my new tires.
Any help would be awesome.

The only thing you should have to turn is the sleeve to adjust the length of the tierod.

If you loosen the sleeve clamps too loose, it is possible that when turning the sleeve, it could expand and jump a thread instead of moving the tie rod end closer or farther away.
