could someone tell me the plus to having this truck and ideas of what to do with it for a bed up grade? Thanks Ron

'94 is a good solid year, I like the dash better than the next version, the engine options are decent, I'm assuming it's the 4L which is good power wise.

Not sure what you mean by bed upgrades

It was hit in the left rear and needs a new bed I like the flair side and would like to change over to that if it is possible

Shouldn't be a problem. AFAIK the beds all bolt to the frame the same way except for the 7ft ones. To the point that I've seen a few 93+ beds bolted onto 1st and 2nd trucks.

As SenorNoob mentioned Gen 1 and Gen 2, I want to say the 94 thru 97 are Gen 3. So you have a wider range to choose from. There were some minor differences, but the bed mounting should be the same. I like the Flareside too. You lose a little cargo area, but meh...

I've often wondered how well the body lines match from 93-97 to 98+

The bed skins are the same so that part doesn't matter... doors bolt up too, all the metal differences are up front.

For a flare side bed you would need the bumper from it since they're different and the gas filler neck, everything else should work.

The inner bed skin in a 2011 is stamped for dual tanks, an option not available after 1988...

There was no FX4 in 1994...

93-97 = 3rd gen. Close enough.
