Hi all.I have a chance to pick up a 1994 ranger low km excab 4x4 but it has a rusted out frame(both sides at the front rear spring hangers). My question is will a 1988 ranger excab 4x4 frame be the same as the 1994? OR what other years will fit? thanks.

yes minus the frame horns(front bumper mounts)

83-97(minus front frame horns)
98-current(minus 2 front body mounts on core support and front bumper mounts

this is for and extend cab

Just to clarify, the 83-97 frames are all the same besides the front frame horns? This if the only thread that seems clear on this..

Yes, that's the short answer... the body mounts and suspension mounts are the same from '83-97 for each wheelbase, there's some random changes over the years like engine mounts changed and fuel tanks and minor stuff and the front of the frame horns changed 3 or so times in that timeframe (front bumper mounts changed in '89, crumple zones were added in '91, front bumper area changed again in '93 etc)

1st post has pix of the frame horn differences....

Worth noting that while 2wd and 4wd are geometrically identical the shape of the 2wd brackets will not clear the 4wd beam (well it will, but it'll bind with any travel). You'd need to transfer the 4wd mounts over to the 2wd frame.
