Hi guys, I just purchased a replacement transfer case motor for my 93 Ranger 4x4 at Rock-Auto and the motor itself appears to be way smaller in size than the original motor. Is this normal? It's much smaller compared to the original one. Are the motors more compact in size now due to better electronics like starters are etc?

It's a Cardone 48206.

Thanks

It's supposed to fit. But I have had things boxed wrong from Rock Auto before. They are good about it, and sent me the right thing no charge, and told me to keep the wrong ones(these were brake shoes). So see if the number on the motor matches the number on the box.

I installed the new 4x4 transfer case motor, it now functions in 4 high only.
Question is how do you get it to work in 4 low. Is there a certain procedure?

Thanks, Turns out it was the correct part. Works fine but 4 low doesn't engage. Is there a certain procedure to get it to work in 4 low? It's not working in 4 low currently.

I got the 4x4 Low to work.

1. Truck has to be in 4x4 High first.
2. Then Put in neutral with foot on the brake.
3. Then depress the 4 Low button.

Bingo
