Starting on my 1991 ranger tdi build want to keep track of it and progress. I have 91 ranger 4x4 extended cab that I want to tdi swap and also do a full Jetta 2006 interior from the donor car which would include seats center console and Sasha s wheel as steering column

Pictures haha. Looking forward to seeing your build take place.

Currently have the hood off and stripped the interior waiting to get my buddy’s cherry picker to pull the old 4.0 other then that goal is to try and start getting the Jetta interior mocked up

Working on getting stock 4.0 engine and trans out
Liking the look without a bumper I’m considering doing a skid plate and no bumper

I 'd suggest some form of bumper, even if it's just like a piece of 1.5 tubing or something. Something to make a full width skid plate attach to.

Yeah I was thinking about getting one of those full steel off-road bumpers

So I decided to cut the frame that connects the front end of the truck so I can remove it and have full access to the engine this way it will be easier to run wiring and mount the tdi engine in I made brackets before hand and bolted them in then took them off cut the truck and put them back on once the build is complete I will install the brackets and then weld the remaning cut for max strength

been working on the front end of the truck getting the suspension components and brakes and stuff all off I’m thinking about doing disc brake conversion in the rear any suggestions? Is it very difficult? Is it worth it?

Someone did the math here awhile back and showed all of the Ranger brakes to be similar in stopping ability. (Excepting the 9" drums)

I went disc because I hate drum brake hardware, and I wanted the 31 spline Explorer axle. 95+ was more common in the salvage yard already.
