Hello everyone, this is my
1989 Ford Ranger Super cab
4.0 ohv
5 speed
4x4

I would like to lift it so it has quite a bit more off road capability. i’m not really familiar at all with lifting a ranger and was looking for recommendations on some setups i could maybe run. i have a lot of money on AmericanTrucks.com
from some returns i did, so id prefer some parts off of there if its possible lol. thank in advance for any help anyone can give. thank you

Pretty cool with the glass fenders and bedsides.

Half the battle on these trucks is getting the tires to clear the body. You're already there.

What's the tire height and the gear ratio you currently have?

Is the suspension all stock currently?

pretty much, just some simple lift springs and blocks.
not real sure what springs they are

rides like stock.

I mean... you looking to get air?

A bit better stance?

Does it rub off road now?

yeah i just want some more clearance, i’m not trying to do a prerunner, no need to go fast and hit jumps. i live in utah so i just want to be able to make it through the rocky terrain.

Awesome Keegan, nice truck. Welcome to TRS and good luck with it.
I never spent much time around NV, cut across one corner of it once coming back from Canada with my dad, didn't see any of Reno or Las Vegas, saw lots of Utah and AZ tho, great country out there if you like lots of rocks and deserts :D
When you get to wheelin man post up some photos of the place :)

I'm really not an authority on these lifts. My Bronco II has a Skyjacker 6 inch lift. I haven't really played with it enough to be very helpful though.

One other company comes to mind... James Duff Ent.

There are still some options but buyer beware. I know the Rough Country lifts had some issues with clearance on the front differential. I would also stay away from some of the cheap options on Amazon and eBay.

I'm also not fimilar with Americantrucks. But if Skyjacker or Duff are available... start there.

There are also several articles in the Tech Library on this site... might be helpful to look those over to get some ideas.

I just looked at Americantrucks...

To get anything as old as yours... the site redirects you to Autopilicity. Not sure if that works for your returned parts money... but they do list the full Skyjacker catalog.
