Bought this bad boy last month as a project truck. Runs/shifts great, but I had a few questions.

1. Does anyone know the part numbers for the OEM brush guard / roll bar? I've been having trouble hunting them down.

2. The speedometer works, but it looks like it is off-center behind the instrument panel. How difficult is it to pull the front panel off and reseat the speedometer?

Are you going to use the original part numbers to search for a used roll bar and brush guard? I can't imagine anyone selling them new.

It's a little involved to get the cluster out.

1st thing to do is disconnect the battery. The reason is you have to pull out on the headlight switch knob to get the knob off. If you forget about the switch the battery will run down with the lights on.

To get the knob off the headlight switch you get a homemade hook tool and reach into the small slot between the knob and the shaft, and press inward, that will release the catch.

You can then pull off the narrow trim below the cluster, and also the narrow trim on the other side of the dash. You need access to the screws behind it.

You will then have access to the screws behind the trim, and under the dash pad lip that hold the silver trim in place. You might have to deal with the radio if someone has done something aftermarket over there.

Then you can unscrew the cluster. Here comes the hard part. You gently pull it out and try to cock it to one side, while you reach around the back of it and feel for where the speedo cable goes in. There will be a white plastic retainer that holds it in place, you need to push this retainer sideways and it will release. You will find out the harder you pull on the cluster and the cable, the harder it is to release.

You will then have a little more room to reach around and unplug the wiring plug. Then you will have it out and can continue to tear into it.
