1987 Ranger really high brake pedal

It's hard to get an idea from a picture of how high the pedal is but I can take my foot off the gas and easily fit it under The brake. The pedal is almost as high in my PB truck but that pedal goes down a long way when you put the brakes on. Something is different with the master cylinder, I was gonna buy a new one but my local parts stores only have power brake masters.
See if you can raise the gas pedal and you'll be happy ever after [emoji848]

I thought about that but with my carb setup right now when the peddle is on the floorboard the carb is wide open so I don't have to worry with it pulling too far and possibly hurting the cable or carb.

Is there are other ways to raise the gas pedal, shortening the cable is not the only way.

Well, an update. Thursday the LF caliper seized up. I managed to make it home in third gear then drug the tire through the gravel into the driveway. Changed the caliper Saturday and went ahead and bled both front brakes, now the pedal goes down just as far as my PB truck. It still sets very high but it does actually mash down now.
