I recently bought new weatherstripping from LMC Truck to replace the door seal that goes on the cab. After I installed it, I have to slam (and I mean really SLAM!) the door to get it to shut completely. It's like the new rubber seal is too thick. I was hoping it'd settle in, but it's been a few weeks now and it's not getting any better.

Has anybody else replaced their door weatherstripping and had this problem? Did the rubber settle in eventually?

maybe try running a heat gun or maybe it's safer to use a hairdryer, on the trim and try and push it in a little harder? idk?

but eventually i need to do this for my 88, and i'm glad I saw this first... I will be reading back up on this thread.

hope you have some good luck. are you sure you received the right part number and everything? (it's just an out of the park guess)

Part numbers match, the length fits perfect, it's just a little too thick. I'll play around with the doors and such this weekend to see if I can get things to line up.
