okay... gutted the bug this afternoon... here's the damage thus far... lots of pics, i know... lots of rust, and it looks like the previous owners laid fiberglass over the floorboards... not really understanding that...

and here's one of Lacy "Helping" lol... she's gotta take it easy though because of her broken toe... she kicked a box full of parts for the bug on accident...

It looks like you got some surprises when you took it apart. Those old Bugs are really cool little cars, and are worth the efforts. I'll definitely be watching your build!
