Soooo last year, in October, I was looking for parts at Hershey Antique auto flea market for model A parts and some stuff to build a cheap T bucket... well, as you can already tell I made a sporadic purchase šŸ˜ and bought what is left of a 1925 buick.

I am also waiting for a guy I know to pull the body off of a 1953 Buick so I can get the straight 8.

The plan was to do a lakes modified roadster.

But I came across these fenders yesterday at the Macungie antique truck show and just like what was left of that buick it just felt right. So they came home with me. Guy thought they were from a 28 buick opera coupe but they are not it looks like they are from a 29-31 Cord L29 cabriolet.

So after sme searching and brain storming I think the only acceptable thing to do is a mix of of 3 cars a lakes modified roadster like the blue one above and kick ass 30 Bentley fast back and a car my friend built named Crusher which is a hand formed car with Duesenberg parts.

I got the steel for the chassis, the fenders, the cowl and the back wall. I was gonna try and find a 32 buick grill but I don't know if I really want to drop a grand on just a grill.

So thats where I'm at. Oh and a model A rear spring crossmember and a suicide front spring mount but thats undecided.

I like the original thought with no fenders. But that is me. I always liked the zipper lakes modified.

It really just gives me an excuse to build another car down the road. I still planning on building a model A pickup at some point as a daily. I was just gonna gut the 5.0 ranger for the drive line and wires but I'm kicking around the idea of a 2.3 or 2.5 duratec 2wd for that one. Hell I would even consider a 4 banger diesel engine for that if I could find anything light other then a TDI.

That modified Duesenberg is so cool looking. Such a unique look

can you find a straight 8? a turbo straight 8 would be the kewlz

I am supposedly going to be getting a 1953 straight 8 this month, from a buick special eight. Guy said he would get it pulled this month. Im gonna get the motor refreshed and make a long tube header and I have a guy who claims he has a offenhauser intake for a straight 8
