Will Gt40 heads work on a 351W, and what kind of compression would I be looking at?

Yes they will work. You will need the holes drilled out for the larger 351 head bolt. Compression will depend on a few things. I don't recall the GT-40 head CC off the top of my head but will you have them milled at all, the block decked, what pistons?

Matt

I'll be using forged flat top pistons, that give 9:1 compression. the stock 351w heads are 58CC

With what cc of head?

Yeah, they aren't.

Uuhhhh, yeah they are... 351W C9 heads have 58CC combustion chambers. With the flat top pistons it will give me 9:1. I need to know how much compression the GT40's will give me...No one seems to know what cc the heads are.

Ford catalog shows the GT-40 "Turbo Swirl" heads to be 64cc.
Dave

Depends on what GT40 heads you're talking about. They come in both 58 and 64. The 69 351W 4 bbl motor was 10 to 1 with 59 cc heads. You looking at the replacement pistons for that?
