they hold less than 2 quarts......right at about 1.75 quarts.....

yeah it definately doesnt take 4 quarts either. dont ask how I found that one out.

Just buy three quarts, and if you have some extra, no biggie. Always good to have some around; Mercon goes in every damn orifice that Rangers have cept the motor.

What's absurd is that this datum is completely absent from the owner's manual... good job, FoMoCo...


PS: You *CAN* put Mercon (Type F is better) in da motor... IFF you're within 500 miles of oil change. The detergent package in ATF is amazing at de-sludging and de-varnishing duh gasoline engine.
