Hello I have a 86 b2 with a 2.9 and I would like to swap from touch drive (auto transfer case) to a manual transfer case anything info/tips will help I am lost

1.unplug the tcase motor wiring(put a ziploc around connector and ziptie and use another ziptie and secure it to inside the frame rail)
2.remove driveshafts
3.unbolt and pull the tcase out(might have to remove shifter floor plate to remove top bolt on case.)
4.bolt the new manual tcase into place
5.drill a hole in you floor for the shifter.
6.install shifter onto tcase
7. install driveshafts
NO ELECTICAL Work Needs dont.

Thank you for your help

take out your existing shifter, boot and trim (weather it be manual or auto on the floor) pull your carpet and look at what's there. there should be a plate bolted to the floor, you can either unbolt and replace this plate for one with a manual t-case or you can modify the one you already have. its not rocket science. your best bet would be to find a truck in a u-pull type yard that you can use for your parts. get the tcase, the shifter, the floor plate and the boot and trim.
