06 intermittent fuel pump issues

Got off work, and my ranger wouldn’t start. I couldn’t hear the fuel pump prime. I checked the inertia switch and pressed it; no change. Went home and came back 3 hrs later, and it cranks right up. This has happened once before, and it was the inertia switch that time, and resetting it fixed it. I replaced the inertia switch and reset it, and the truck started right up. However, the next day, the issue returned. I need help. Thanks!
 
check the wires at the inertia switch connector. they like to get hot and corrode.
this is from a 2005 manual, should be the same.

Multimeter shows I’m getting 5.2v on G/Y and 0v on P/B
 
Tested the fuel pump fuse (23) it’s good. The relay clicks I have a constant 12v at relay fuse box and on key turn I get 12v

Well idk. I plugged the inertia switch back in and it started right up. unplugged and tested volts still getting like 5v unless I’m not making good connection reconnected and it fired back up. I’ll wait a couple hours and recheck everything.
 
are the wires crispy at the inertia switch?
I had to replace that connector/pigtail.
 
did you try swapping the fuel pump relay in the battery junction box with another?

Yes, I did multiple times. I think it could be a wire issue from the fuel pump to inertia I’m only getting 5v at G/Y at switch. Is there a way to run 12v to the fp?
 
yes, connector C312 is 16 pins and is under the truck about around the left/driver side.
you'll find the pink/black stripe wire on #5
one side goes directly to the fuel pump.
a fused line inserted there should power the pump thus verifying the pump and return to ground.
I don't recall the ohms thru that segment.
then go back to the switch connector

G103 is near the battery junction box.
 
I tested the pink wire at the fp connection and I’m only getting 6v on key turn
 
What point are you using for ground on your voltmeter? If you have a long enough piece of wire, you can tie the black lead directly to the battery to give you an idea of what's going on.
