my ranger has a build date of 05/2000 and has non pulse vacuum hubs. its an off road package with 4 wheel abs. the non vacuum hubs i see listed for 2000 rangers say after 6/22/2000 build date. are these the hubs i need? did some come with live axle pre 6/22/2000? thanks for the help.

or was there already a swap done to this truck before i owned it?

I'm thinking my 2000 has a build date of early June and it has live hubs.

have you ever changed yours, and if so, did you have any problem getting the correct hub?

the price difference from local store and internet is large enough that i'd like to buy online. the hub i saw online said after 6/22/2000. i asked seller if this is correct for my truck, they said no and that they didn't have one for my truck. local store said they didn't show an actual date of change in hubs, just that 2000 came with vacuum and live hubs. i think the online part that says after 6/22/2000 is the correct hub, i was just hoping to find some reassurance.

I have changed mine,,,but,,,,

I replaced the entire knuckle assemblies with ones from a 2004.

I get my parts locally, and usually have the old part with me so getting the correct one is easy.

if you do not have the vacuum pulse hubs, your live hubs should be the same as a 2002 or 2003.

the reason I swapped knuckles was to get the bigger 12" rotors, its a direct bolt on using all factory parts for a 2004.

you can check what parts your truck left the factory with.
go to fordparts.com and use your vin to search the catalog.

I'm not aware of any variations other than PVH hubs or live spindles. If yours has live spindles (identifiable by the large retaining nut in the center of the hub for the axle shaft), then I would think you should be able to order whatever live spindle stuff you need w/o issue.

That's what I was thinking. I opted to order the one online instead of going to the store. I figure it was worth the gamble considering the price difference. Thanks for the help everyone. If it doesn't work out I'll let you know.

I second this.
