04 Ranger Speaker Wiring Question

i just bought an 04 ford ranger with a cheap stock am/fm stereo... no rear speakers.


my question is can i add the stock ford cd player/cassette unit.... and does my truck have the wires for rear speakers installed from factory?

any help would be appreciated

nope just a regular cab... think it was a fleet vehicle at one time

You might be lucky and have the right plug to be able to plug and play an OE cd& tape deck. But for rear speakers you'll have to run new lines it's not hard and has been talked about quite often.

I think you would be just fine with a set of good front speakers and a deck, no real need for rear speakers.

If i was you i would go get aftermarket HU put it in...withthat harness it comes with just run rear speakers and splice them in to the new harness....pretty simple project.

i appreciate the help guys... the reason i had asked is i already had the rear speakers and HU from my 2001 ranger that unfortunately got crashed.

I pulled the factory am/fm/cd from my 99 Ranger and installed it my 2009 XL with no problems. Un=fortunatley the 09 also doesn't have the rear speakers/wires.
