'04 Factory head unit

I'm a newbie and the question I have is a simple one. I have a 2004 factory head unit in my possession and a 2000 Ranger Extended Cab. Will the '04 fit in the same space as the '00? If not, what kind of difficulty am I looking at? Any info can be email to me or simply reply to this thread. Thanks.
