02 Ford Ranger - MPG City 11 / Hwy 20

Understood.

Could I get away with installing the front side cats, and not the rears? There are 2 cats per side. The engine light, which is the o2 sensor, is on the front side. Would installing just the fronts resolve that issue, or create only another?

Or if I were to leave all 4 cats off, would there be an ECM available, that would compensate for the lack of converters? Or maybe reprogramming the current one?

My 4.0 gets about 12 mpg city driving, around 20 to 21 on the freeway.

I can get to about 21.5 if I drive real easy on the freeway and about 15 mpg around town if I drive easy. I don't have the patience to drive like that most of the time.

The Cologne V6 is an old, inefficient design that originated from a 60° V4. You simply can't expect more from it.

What I would give for 15 in the city! The best I have gotten is 11.3, which was acquired from Hypermilling.

Man I bitch about 15...I want 20+ honestly lol. Then I'll be happy.
