Trying to replace the rear view mirror. There's no exposed fasteners, it looks as if a cover snaps on / off. I'd rather not butcher it. Does anyone have any ideas ?
I believe the mirror has a spring steel clip holding it to a glued-to-the-glass mounting. It should pull off with a little bit of leverage. Look closer.
By federal law, the mirror must break away from the mount under a very small load.
A metal plate is glued to window. Your rear view clips on that. Try to find clips. Just for reference, you pull it up. Not out. Replacement, looks under tech section for explorer ones. There is also nice visors with lights to be had from an expo.
